1948 “State of Israel is Born”

About the Artwork:

Dan Groover creatively marks the birth of the state of Israel in his pop art original artwork ‘1948’. Using Mixed media Newspaper and acrylic paint on canvas, the artist composes the American flag on the top half of the work, placing stars of David into the famous star-spangled banner, highlighting Israels close friendship with the United States. The number 4 within the year 1948 in the image is also infused within the blue and red star of David, further exemplifying this tie. 18 stars of the American flag transformed in stars of David to emphasize eternal life of the state of Israel and relation with the USA. On the bottom reads the original Palestine post which today the Jerusalem post stating the state of Israel is born in bold calligraphy, clearly underlining the piece.
