About the Artwork:

Avi Ben Simhon uses his signature inverse collage technique in the creation of ‘Three sisters’, before painting on top with bright oil paints. The three women are depicted in matching red dresses, all similar looking with long necks tilting their heads in different directions. Their expressions are neutral, with each holding up a waving hand. Inspired by cubism and fauvism, Avi painted many colorful and unique looking women with robust hair, long necks and beautiful clothing in different still life scenarios. Each serve to communicate layers of emotion, open to interpretation by the viewer in differing ways.
