Avi Ben Simchon uses his signature inverse collage technique in the creation of ‘Natural Woman’. The piece depicts a woman, unadorned with her natural hair in textured waves. She lays her head sideways simply, her expression at ease, exuding a sense of feminine elegance and a beautiful, calming energy.  Avi uses his revolutionary inverse collage process in this piece. Painting using only a special absorbing material he created on top of mixed media, images and colors from the newspaper’s laying underneath are brought forth to the surface on Steinbach paper. The result is an outstanding portrait of texture and depth with every single brushstroke. Inspired by cubism and fauvism, Avi communicates layers of emotion in his depiction of various women, setting a mood through their raw stances and expression.
