About the Artwork:
The Gitty Fuchs original piece ‘Jerusalem Fortress’ depicts the grand entrance to Jerusalem’s ancient old city, a crowd of figures blending before Jaffa Gate. Fuchs uses palette knives, oil and acrylic paint to build 6 layers of paint, finishing the work with delicate gold leaf. Her use of contrasting pastel colors in the bold, abstract expressionistic inspired style contributes a dreamlike feeling to the scene, giving the viewer a feeling of awe.
