REFLECTING BIRDS

About the Artwork:

Joel Amits’ ‘Reflecting birds’ depicts a migration of small birds, flying in the graceful shape of a wave. Below it reflects a mirroring school of fish in the same form of movement. This multicolored, magnificent and thought-provoking piece is made of laser-cut metal pieces mounted on a lacquered wood board. This series draws its inspiration from nature as well as from the computerized world and the doors it opens for artistic creation. Joel finds the ironic process of forming steel, a heavy and cold material, into such delicate forms of life such as the birds and fish in ‘Reflecting birds’ to be an essential dimension to his work, provoking not just breathtaking imagery but additional layers of meaning.
